Scholars' Club enjoys Creative Chemistry
A group of 12 children from Forms V and VI saw at close-hand how brilliant, loud and smelly chemistry can be during a visit to Stowe School's Science Department!
Mr James Tearle, Head of Science at Stowe, delighted and inspired our Scholars’ Club with his amazing and almost magical demonstrations and brain-teasing methods of learning about atoms, molecules and mixtures.
The Club then had to work on a ‘Clock Test’ which had them methodically working out the right amount of chemicals needed to turn a mixture dark blue after exactly 60 seconds.
The afternoon finished with a flash as Mr Tearle recreated the opening sequence of Mission Impossible much to the delight of the Scholars! The children definitely proved themselves up to the scientific challenge and enjoyed meeting many OAs who are loving life at Stowe.
