Farewell Assembly
Staff and children gathered to say farewell to Headmaster, Michael Chitty, and wish him well in his retirement.
The whole school assembled in the marquee, erected on the North Lawn in readiness for Speech Day, and sang a selection of Mr Chitty’s favourite songs and hymns. First up were the Pre-Prep children with wonderful performances of ‘You’ve got a Friend in me’ from Toy Story and the lovely worship song, ‘Soften my Heart, Lord’.
Everyone joined in for tremendous singing of the hymns, which included 'Give Me Joy in my Heart', 'At the Name of Jesus' and 'I vow to Thee, my Country'.
Afterwards, the children presented Mr Chitty with his very own Terracotta Army, comprising a clay figure made by each child in the School (289 in total), as well as a mini clay model of Mr Chitty himself!
Lunch was held outside on the front lawn amid a party atmosphere, with musical accompaniment from some of our talented, young musicians.
