Boarding
Ashfold has a thriving boarding community, with many of our older pupils choosing to board one or two nights a week alongside their friends. We warmly welcome pupils aged 8 to 13 into our boarding family, offering a safe, supportive, and homely environment.
Whether you live nearby or further afield, we provide three flexible boarding options to suit different needs:
-
Occasional Boarding – Our most flexible option, allowing parents to vary the nights their child boards each term. This is ideal for families with changing work commitments or for those looking to gradually introduce their child to boarding life.
-
Flexible Boarding – The most popular choice at Ashfold, offering children the consistency of regular boarding nights each week. Many pupils opt to board on the same nights as their friends, making it a fun and social experience.
-
Weekly Boarding – The best of both worlds! Pupils stay Monday to Friday, enjoying a full programme of activities with their friends before heading home for quality family time at the weekend.
A Home from Home
Boarding at Ashfold is an extension of school life, where pupils eat, play, and relax together in a warm and welcoming environment. Our 45 boarding beds are located within the heart of the school in two dedicated wings, creating a strong sense of community. The boarding house is run like an extended family, supported by Gap students, resident staff, and of course, our much-loved house dog, Nancy.
Approximately 75% of our Prep School pupils take advantage of boarding, enjoying access to our fantastic facilities and a varied programme of evening activities that promote social and personal development.
We hope our Boarding Booklet above gives you an insight into life as a boarder at Ashfold. If you have any questions or would like a tour of the boarding house, please do get in touch—we would be delighted to welcome you.
