Humanities
At Ashfold, Humanities brings together Geography, History and Theology, Philosophy and Religion (TPR), encouraging pupils to explore the world around them, understand the past, and reflect on life’s biggest questions. Through enquiry, discussion and hands-on experiences, pupils develop the curiosity, critical thinking and global awareness in and beyond the classroom.
Geography
Geography at Ashfold inspires pupils to explore the world around them, from natural landscapes to global challenges like climate change and sustainability. Through fieldwork, collaborative projects and real-world case studies, pupils develop the practical skills and environmental awareness.
History
History at Ashfold helps pupils understand how people and events have shaped today’s world. Through storytelling, debate and hands-on projects, they develop the skills to think critically, evaluate evidence and appreciate the importance of different perspectives — making the past feel relevant and alive.
Theology, Philosophy and Religion (TPR)
TPR at Ashfold encourages pupils to explore life’s big questions, from the origins of the universe to debates about justice, morality and belief. Through lively discussion, personal reflection and critical enquiry, pupils develop respect for different viewpoints, alongside the confidence to form and articulate their own ideas.
