More Able Pupils
We recognise and nurture More Able Pupils—those who achieve or have the potential to achieve at a level significantly beyond their peer group. This may be across the whole curriculum or in a specific subject area. Our experienced staff are skilled in identifying and challenging high-potential learners both inside and outside the classroom.
Scholarships & Academic Excellence
Each year, around half of our Form 6 (Year 8) pupils sit Scholarship examinations for entry into some of the country’s leading senior schools. We are proud of our scholarship record, with recent academic awards to Abingdon, Stowe, and Headington.
Across all year groups, More Able Pupils are extended through:
- Challenging and stimulating activities in lessons
- High expectations for academic and personal growth
- Opportunities to explore subjects in greater depth
Q Club (Forms 3 – 6)
Our Q Club is a weekly enrichment programme designed to stretch and inspire pupils intellectually. Sessions focus on developing:
- Critical thinking & problem-solving
- Teamwork & interpersonal skills
- Public speaking & debating
Pupils also engage with regular external speakers, covering a diverse range of thought-provoking topics—from aesthetics to philanthropy, entrepreneurship to the environment, and medicine to the military.
Masterclass Programme (Forms 5 – 6)
For pupils who show exceptional potential and motivation in areas beyond the classroom, we offer weekly Masterclass sessions in:
- Performing Arts
- Creative Arts
- Sport
- Digital Innovation
Led by specialist staff, these sessions provide exciting, high-level challenges, often leading to co-curricular scholarships.
