The 1927 Society Events
As we prepare to celebrate our centenary year in 2027, we are excited to launch The 1927 Society – a special club for those who wish to be part of Ashfold’s 100-year legacy and share in the pride of this remarkable achievement.
We warmly invite all Old Ashfoldians and friends of the school to join The 1927 Society and be a part of this historic milestone. By becoming a member, you will receive invitations to a number of exclusive events each year, updates on the school’s plans for the future, and networking opportunities to connect with fellow Old Ashfoldians and friends of the school as we celebrate the past and look forward to the next 100 years.
To join The 1927 Society, please download and complete the form below and return it by email to Fiona Russ or by post to the School.

The 1927 Society Events
The 1927 Society was pleased to host Burns Night on Saturday, 1 February, in the Mansion. This event showcased what a special community Ashfold is, with a wonderful mix of Old Ashfoldians, current parents, teachers, and friends of the school, bringing together people of all ages.
The evening commenced with a bagpiper on the Oval, welcoming guests to a drinks reception in the Saloon with champagne and canapés. We were then piped into the main dining hall for an exceptional three-course Scottish meal, expertly prepared by Philip Britten and his team.
A truly theatrical occasion, Lord Younger led us through the Parade, Address, and Toast to the Haggis, along with the Loyal Toast, while Colin MacIntosh guided us through the Selkirk Grace and the Immortal Memory. The entertainment continued with Patrick Lord and Hannah Kornicka-McCracken delivering hilarious renditions of the Toast to the Lassies and the Reply from the Lassies.
The evening reached new heights when we returned to the Saloon for some raucous reeling in the Scottish Ceilidh, officiated by Lord Younger, before closing the night in true tradition with Auld Lang Syne.
What a night to remember!
