Mathematics at Ashfold is designed to inspire a sense of curiosity, challenge and excitement. Whether exploring number patterns in Pre-Prep or tackling algebraic thinking in the Prep years, our pupils develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts through practical exploration, collaborative problem-solving and creative reasoning.

We encourage pupils to think mathematically — spotting connections, exploring different strategies and reasoning with confidence. Mistakes are valued as learning opportunities, helping pupils develop resilience and the belief that with perseverance, every challenge can be overcome.

Alongside core fluency, our curriculum places a strong emphasis on applying maths to real-world situations, showing pupils that maths is not just about numbers on a page, but about understanding and shaping the world around them.
