Transition Trip to Buckinghamshire Railway Centre

Children in Transition visited Buckinghamshire Railway Centre in Quainton for a World War II experience.

They met members of the Home Guard, the National Fire Service and even Winston Churchill! They travelled on a real steam train, experienced what a bombing raid would have been like inside a shelter and were allowed to go into Churchill's state carriage.

Here are some of the children's comments about the trip:

"I liked the bomb shelter. It had sound effects and flashing lights!" Ben

"My favourite was the steam train because the seats were so comfy!" Sofia

"We liked going in First Class because it has comfy seats and curtains and arm rests!" Ralph and Sam

Many thanks to all our parent helpers.
