Leavers' Destinations

We take great pride in the broad range of senior schools our pupils move on to, reflecting the individuality and aspirations of each child. In 2024, our Form 6 (Year 8) leavers achieved 100% pass rate at Common Entrance and all gained entry to their chosen independent senior schools.

We believe that there is no 'one size fits all' approach to senior school selection, and we work closely with families to ensure that each pupil finds the school that best suits their academic strengths, interests, and personal development.

Expert Guidance & Support

Choosing the right senior school is an important decision, and we offer a wealth of knowledge and experience to support families throughout the process. Conversations about future schools often begin as early as Form 2, allowing us to gain a deep understanding of each family’s aspirations for their child, both academically and pastorally. Parents are encouraged to speak with the Headmaster at any time for personalised advice.

We take a carefully considered approach, looking at a child's abilities, strengths, and interests before helping families refine their choices. Whether considering boarding or day, single-sex or co-educational, selective or non-selective schools, the Headmaster will guide families through every step, ensuring that each pupil finds the right environment to flourish.

Preparation for Senior School Entry

Ashfold pupils are well-prepared for the transition to their senior schools. We provide structured preparation for senior school pre-tests, ensuring that every child is equipped with the skills and confidence they need to succeed. Additionally, all pupils receive interview practice, helping them to present themselves confidently and articulate their strengths during the admissions process.

"The pupils' excellent personal development ensures that by the time they leave the school all pupils...are confident, understand clearly the needs of others and are thoroughly prepared for the next stage in their education"
