Form I Trip to Chedworth Roman Villa
Form I visited Chedworth Roman Villa as part of their Humanities topic, The Romans.
The children enjoyed dressing as Roman slaves and used a pilum and mortarium (pestle and mortar) to make medicine bags. They had a tour of the buildings and learnt how the Romans dined and had communal baths. There was also an opportunity to handle a range of artefacts found on the Roman site.
The visit gave the children an excellent insight into the way the Romano-British lived more than two thousand years ago.
