World Book Day

Ashfold celebrated World Book Day in style with children and staff in the Pre-Prep and Junior Departments dressing up as characters from favourite books.

In the Pre-Prep, the children enjoyed a carousel of activities, from singing and dancing along to various stories to painting their characters and making ‘story strings’.

The Juniors read stories to each other (with plenty of actions!) including Winnie and Wilbur Under the Sea, (following illustrator, Korky Paul’s visit to Ashfold the previous week). They also enjoyed a book swap, recycling their old books and picking up some new ones.

Meanwhile, children in Forms III – VI welcomed author, Philip S. Davies. Philip, who writes children’s fantasy novels, explained how he became an author and how he plans and writes his books. He gave the children lots of creative writing tips and his fantasy quiz went down a real treat!
