OA selected for British Skeleton Bobsleigh Team

Congratulations to OA, Joe DeBanks, who has been selected to train with the British Skeleton Bobsleigh team. Joe was one of eight picked from 3,500 athletes!

Joe joined the GB Skeleton Talent team in the summer of 2016/17 having excelled in the latest of the UK Sport backed talent identification campaigns, Discover your Gold.

Currently studying at Loughborough University, Joe is also a former GB squad sailor. He took up sailing at the age of 11 on the recommendation of a family member and competed on national circuits in both fleet and team racing.

He also played rugby as a winger and has enjoyed athletics for as long as he can remember. His track talents focused on sprinting and he competed in the 100m and 4x100m relay with school at county and regional events.
