Boarding - Week 2

It was wonderful to welcome back our boarders last week and especially good to welcome lots of new faces. After the summer break, the Boarding Wing was full of fun and laughter once again.

The first week of term saw our boarders taking part in lots of exciting evening activities, from netball and cookery to bowling and Ancient Greek! Also, rehearsals for the Senior Play started in earnest - the singing already sounds amazing. Can’t wait to see that production next term!

In Mr Vaan’s absence this week (he is off with our Form VI geographers in Dorset), Mr Medwin enjoyed taking Robotics Club. On Tuesday night, Freddie M won the bowling with an impressive score of 116 and we discovered we already have some sharp shooters in .22 Shooting Club. Meanwhile, children in the Art Club enjoyed a tranquil evening painting.

Wednesday night boarders gave Mr Frise, Mr Hopkin, Keegan and Harrison a short sharp lesson/shock in Netball. On Thursday evening, our boarders ran off plenty of energy with Mrs Williams in Indoor Sport and Mrs G kicked off the Cookery Club with chocolate crispy cakes (easing our budding Jamie Olivers in slowly!). Girls Club started as they mean to go on – plenty of chocolate and giggles! And finally, Ancient Greek was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Great to have everyone back. We are looking forward to a fantastic term’s boarding.
