Haileybury Debating Challenge

A team of three members of our Academic Scholars’ Club took part in the bi-annual Haileybury Prep Schools Debating Challenge.

In preparation for the event, they had to research the motions, discuss their ideas and work out who was saying what. The Ashfold team encountered two very eloquent and well-versed teams, but they held their own when arguing about lowering the voting age and introducing term limits for MPs.

The competition gave our team real experience of thinking on their feet and speaking clearly in front of an audience. They did themselves and the School proud.
