Bird Conservation

Children in Pre-Prep II were thrilled to welcome back members of the Education Team at Waddesdon Manor.

The Team were raising awareness of the plight of endangered species of birds and in particular, the Rothschild mynah bird. Native to Bali, the snowy white bird is at risk of extinction due to the rapid rate of deforestation and the illegal trade in cage-birds. Waddesdon’s mascot for family activities is Mimi the Mynah.

The children enjoyed watching a presentation and made colourful pictures of songbirds.
