Environmental Habitat Day
Form I enjoyed an exciting day with the Wildlife Trust exploring animals, plants and wildlife habitats in the school grounds.
The children were each given a mystery animal or plant and some useful facts. They then examined three different habitats and discovered where their animal/plant would usually be found.
To conclude the morning session, the children discussed what might happen when a habitat comes under threat from pollution. They considered how this would impact on the animal and plant population and if any would be able to adapt to a new habitat area
During the afternoon, the children looked at the effect of a proposed development in the wooded area and came up with a number of ways to show it would not be a suitable site for housing.
Thank you to the Wildlife Trust for a really enjoyable day.
